Mary McLean is a Professor in the School of Special Education, School Psychology, and Early Childhood Studies in the College of Education at the University of Florida and is affiliated with the Anita Zucker Center for Excellence in Early Childhood Studies. She is working with the DR access Project in California on the development of the DRDP early childhood assessment instrument with an emphasis on its use with children with IFSPs or IEPs. At the University of Florida, Dr. McLean currently is Co-PI on a research grant funded by the Institute of Education Sciences which is investigating the impact of professional development on preschool teachers’ use of embedded instruction practices. She is also currently working in California on a pilot study of embedded instruction with early childhood programs in Los Angeles, Santa Clara and Fresno. She has been active in the Division for Early Childhood (DEC) of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC), has served as President of DEC and currently serves as Chair of the DEC Recommended Practices Commission.
