Families frequently report the biggest issue preventing their participation in community activities is managing their child’s behavior. Then came the global COVID-19 pandemic. Stay at home orders, concerns for safety, and social distancing recommendations have impacted families’ routines and perspectives. Take an in-depth look at how early intervention providers can operationalize evidence-based practices, including natural learning environment practices and coaching, to support families in these challenging times. This session uses video examples of early intervention practitioners and breaks down how addressing and supporting parent responsiveness contributes to child learning and behavior often leading to improved participation for families in community activities.
