Registration and Payment
When can I register for the Inclusion Institute?

Are meals included with my registration fee?
If you are joining us in person, lunch, coffee/tea, and snacks are included on all 3 days. Continental breakfast is included on May 14 and May 15.
I cannot attend every day of the conference. Can I pay a prorated registration for the days I attend?
Unfortunately, we cannot offer a prorated registration fee. Our virtual and hybrid sessions are recorded, and all registrants will have access following the event.
Is there a group discount, or a student or family member registration rate?
Unfortunately, we cannot offer discounts of any kind on our event registration. Please contact our staff (inclusioninstitute@unc.edu) to speak with someone about a scholarship.
Can I volunteer at the conference in exchange for a free registration?
Our conference is staffed by members of the Inclusion Institute Planning Committee and the UNC Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute. We do not offer free registration in exchange for volunteering services.
I did not receive or have lost my registration receipt. How do I get another one?
Contact Barbara Lowery (Barbara.Lowery@unc.edu) and Erica Nouri (Erica.nouri@unc.edu) to request a copy of your registration receipt be emailed to you through our registration system.
I need to cancel my registration. How do I do that?
Please contact Barbara Lowery (Barbara.Lowery@unc.edu) and Erica Nouri (Erica.nouri@unc.edu) if you need to cancel your registration.
Can I get a refund if I cancel my registration?
Through April 16, 2025, participants who cancel their registration will receive a refund of the registration fee minus a $25 administrative fee. After April 16, 2024 participants who cancel registration will receive a refund of the registration fee minus $50.
Instead of canceling my registration, can I have someone else go in my place?
Yes. If you are no longer able to attend the event, contact Barbara Lowery (Barbara.Lowery@unc.edu) and Erica Nouri (Erica.nouri@unc.edu) with the name of the person taking your registration, along with their email address.
Can I pay for my registration with a purchase order or check?
Purchase orders are not an accepted form of payment. Registration can be paid using a credit card or by check. Checks must be received by April 22, 2025, unless arrangements have been made with event staff. For questions, contact Barbara Lowery (Barbara.Lowery@unc.edu) and Erica Nouri (Erica.nouri@unc.edu).
My grant funding doesn’t come in until later. Can you hold a spot for me until I am able to pay?
We will do our best to hold a spot for you, but this cannot be guaranteed. If you have questions about holding a spot, or multiple spots for your organization, contact Barbara Lowery (Barbara.Lowery@unc.edu) and Erica Nouri (Erica.nouri@unc.edu).
Is there a waitlist once the conference is filled?
Yes. Our registration system will display a “waitlist” notification for our pre-conference workshops, or if capacity has been reached for our in-person or virtual registrations. If you have not seen this display when registering, space is available.
What is my place on the waitlist?
Your place on the waitlist is determined by the date you submitted your waitlist registration. For instance, if you complete your registration on February 2, 2025, and another person completes their registration on February 3, 2025, you would be given a spot from our waitlist first if one becomes available.
How do I know if I will have a spot at the Inclusion Institute?
Our registration system will display a “waitlist” notification for our pre-conference workshops, or if capacity has been reached for our in-person or virtual registrations. If you have not seen this display when registering, space is available. Please make sure you complete all steps of the registration system. Once you have completed the registration system, you will receive a copy of your registration confirmation. If you receive a “waitlist” notification when attempting to register, please complete the registration process. Cancellations occur within the month prior to the conference, and those spots are given to those on our waitlist. Available spots are given in the order of registration date.
I need to register multiple people from my organization. How can I do this?
You will need to complete a separate registration for each individual you are registering for. Please make sure you have their full name, email address, work address, role title, preferred pronouns, and accommodation requests and/or dietary restrictions that we should be made aware of. If you are registering for someone, please make sure you register with their email address, not your email address. There is a field in our registration system where you can include your own email to receive a copy of their confirmation. If you have questions about registering multiple people, contact Erica Nouri (erica.nouri@unc.edu).
My registration costs were not listed on my confirmation. How can I get a receipt of payment?
Registration costs are not listed on our registration confirmations. Please email Erica Nouri (Erica.nouri@unc.edu) for a receipt.
I selected that I will be paying by check, but my organization will be sending payment. How can I get an invoice?

I am getting reimbursed by my organization for my registration costs. How can I get a proof of payment?

My organization needs a W9 to process payment. How can I get a W9?

Accessibility and Accommodations
What do I do if I need an ADA accommodation due to a sensory or physical impairment?
There will be American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters for the keynote and plenary sessions on May 13, 2025. All pre-conference and concurrent session presentations will have auto closed captioning and handouts will be 504-compliant.
You can let us know your ADA accommodation on your registration form. Please provide at least one week advance notice before the start of the conference. If you have any additional questions related to accessibility, please contact us at inclusioninstitute@unc.edu.
What accommodations are made for food allergies/restrictions?
During the registration process, you can indicate any food allergies or restrictions. The planning team then works with the Friday Center to ensure there is a range of meal options that meet the varied dietary needs of our participants. All the meals and snacks are served buffet-style with a variety of options.
Conference Logistics and General Questions
How do attendees dress for this conference?
Most attendees dress in business casual or casual attire. However, the conference center can get really cold, so we recommend that you bring a jacket, cardigan, or sweater.
Where can I find a detailed agenda for the Inclusion Institute?
The detailed agenda will be available in late February/early March 2025. In the meantime, you may review the Schedule-At-A-Glance.
Is there Wifi in the meeting rooms?
Yes, Wifi is provided throughout the conference center and in the meeting rooms.
Does this conference have an app?
Yes. We are using Sched app this year. More details on how to access and use the app will be posted in February 2025.
Does the Inclusion Institute provide CEU credits?
Yes. You can apply for Continuing Education Unit credits at the end of the conference. If you need more information, please contact Lindsay Holland (lindsay.holland@unc.edu).
I would like to be a presenter at the Inclusion Institute. How do I submit a presenter proposal?
The event does not have an open call for presentation proposals. The workshops and sessions are planned by a committee to meet pressing needs related to the inclusion of young children with disabilities in the classrooms and their communities.
